Southampton qualified for the English Cup semifinals. The Saints won with a 2:0 win over Wigan on Mark Hughes`s debut as a team manager. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg opened the score after just over an hour`s play, and a little earlier Christian Walton had saved his head.
Wigan goalkeeper made an excellent rescue of a penalty shot by Manolo Gabiadi after Dan Burn had dropped the striker.
